Friday, September 21, 2012 SERIOUS SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION C12-190574 On September 21, 2012, at approximately 4:30 a.m., uniform patrol members responded to the area of the 1700 block of Sargent Avenue regarding the report of a serious sexual assault that just occurred. Officers met with a 16 year old female victim who related that she was waiting for a bus in the area of Sargent Avenue and Maryland Street when she observed a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle eventually stopped, at which time an unknown male exited and confronted the victim. The male took hold of the victim and forced her into the vehicle. The victim attempted to flee but was unsuccessful. The investigation has revealed that the suspect then drove the victim for approximately ten minutes, stopping in the area of Ellice Avenue and King Edward Street. Once parked, a serious sexual assault occurred. The victim was eventually pushed out of the vehicle and the suspect left the area. The victim fled to a nearby business and police were notified. The suspect is described as: Male, East Indian in appearance, approximately 30 years of age, medium build, short black hair and a short beard. The suspect vehicle is described as: Small, white, four door car with black pinstripe details on the side. The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit.
