UTTER THREATS AND MISCHIEF ARREST C13-224873
On November 1, 2013, police responded to a residence located in the 1800 block of Wellington Crescent to check on the wellbeing of a male occupant.
Information was reported that an adult male displaying unpredictable behaviour had barricaded himself within a residence. Further information supported that this male also had access to weapons.
Due to the volatile situation, area road closures were put into place. Public and Officer Safety was the highest priority.
The Incident Command Structure was implemented involving members of the Crisis Negotiation Unit.
On November 2nd, 2013 at approximately 12:45 a.m., a 30 year-old male was safely taken into custody.
Several airguns, airsoft pellets, hatchet, holsters, gas mask and knives were located and seized by officers.
The male has been charged with: Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Mischief and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order.
He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARRESTS C12-188170
On September 17, 2012 at approximately 9:35 p.m., two male suspects concealed their identity and forced their way into an electronic business located in the 800 block of St. James Street. While inside, the suspects confronted staff with a handgun. Several of the staff ran for safety and the suspects eventually left the business empty handed. No one was injured.
During the morning hours of October 22, 2012, two male suspects armed with a handgun broke into a residence located in the 100 block of Bourkevale Drive. The suspects proceeded to remove jewellery, liquor, electronics and a shotgun from the home.
Due to the efforts of Patrol members and members of the Major Crimes Unit, on October 31, 2013 both males were arrested.
Michael BEALIEU and Dominic BRUNO, both 22 years-old of Winnipeg have been charged with numerous firearm related offences, including Robbery with Intent and Break, Enter a Dwelling House due to their alleged involvement.
Both were detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARREST C13-224283
During the evening hours of October 30, 2013, a male suspect in the company of two others contacted a local pizza restaurant and placed an order for delivery in the area of the 200 block of Burrows Avenue.
It's alleged that the suspects had intentions of robbing the delivery person upon arrival.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., the delivery arrived and the victim was confronted. The suspects were armed with a knife and robbed the delivery person of food and cash. No injuries were sustained.
On October 31, 2013 at approximately 7:40 p.m., a similar circumstance occurred involving the suspects however; a different business and delivery person was victimized.
Both incidents were reported and investigations commenced.
On November 1, 2013, Patrol members and District 3 Detectives attended to the 200 block of Burrows Avenue and arrested two males.
Parmjit SINGH, 25 years-old and Anthony BARKMAN, 19 years-old have been charged with numerous offences including: Robbery with a Weapon x 2 and Possession of Weapon x 2.
They were detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre. The investigation continues.
