Public Advisory – Telephone Solicitation Scam
The Winnipeg Police Service has recently been made aware of a number incidents related to a telephone solicitation scam involving a fictitious company called C & K Canada.

The basic scam involves the suspect calling the victim who indicates that C & K Canada, along with the Winnipeg Police Service, is requesting donations for publications on missing children in an effort to locate them. Should you receive this type of telephone solicitation, the following number may appear on your call display: (204) 192-8457. 

Members of the public are encouraged not to engage these callers or send payment in any form.

The Commercial Crime Unit has been notified and encourages all members of the public to discuss this scam with their friends and family members or those individuals who they feel may be susceptible to this type of scam and/or tactics.
