Sudden Death Investigation - C16-243604 On November 20, 2016 at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hotel located in the 200 block of McDermot Avenue regarding a deceased male.
The investigation has revealed that a 30 year old male was staying at the hotel when he was located by staff.
Upon police arrival, drugs and drug paraphernalia was located and seized by officers. Although fentanyl is suspected, the cause of death is unconfirmed at this time.
Further testing and analysis is underway and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
Sudden Death Investigation - C16-243937 On November 20, 2016 at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service, along with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a residence located in the first 100 block of Kinlock Lane regarding 2 males in medical distress.
The males were transported to hospital and a 22-year-old has since been pronounced deceased. A 21-year-old remains in critical condition.
The investigation has revealed that illicit drugs were present within the residence. Although fentanyl is suspected, the cause of death is unconfirmed at this time.
Further testing and analysis is underway and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
