Sudden Death Investigation – Update - C16-243937
As previously released; on November 20, 2016 at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service, along with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a residence located in the first 100 block of Kinlock Lane regarding 2 males in medical distress.
   
Two males were transported to hospital and a 22-year-old has since been pronounced deceased. The 21-year-old victim has since been upgraded to stable condition.
 
 
The investigation has revealed that illicit drugs were present within the residence. A search warrant was executed on the residence on November 22, 2016. Although fentanyl is suspected, the cause of death is unconfirmed at this time.
   
Further testing and analysis is underway and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
   
This investigation is continuing by members of the District 2 Crime Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
