Tuesday, March 20, 2012 MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING A PEDESTRIAN C12-49503 On March 19, 2012, at approximately 7:10 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Buchanan Boulevard and Portage Avenue regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Investigating members have since discovered that a 29 year old female had been walking eastbound on the north side of Portage Avenue, approaching Buchanan Boulevard, when she was struck by a vehicle (Ford Explorer) making a northbound turn. The pedestrian was conveyed to hospital in critical condition however, her condition has since improved. Members of the Central Traffic Unit were deployed and continue to investigate. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors at this time. The investigation is continuing.
