Motor Vehicle Collision involving Stolen Vehicle - C16-223671

Pedestrian struck - Public Assistance Requested:

On October 25, 2016 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a 63-year-old male was waiting inside a bus shelter in the area of Pembina Highway and Southpark Drive.

While inside, a previously stolen vehicle was being operated by an unknown individual in a southbound direction when it abruptly swerved and collided with the shelter.

The suspect exited the vehicle and briefly made contact with the now injured 63-year-old, before fleeing.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, later upgraded to stable.

The investigation continued by members of the Stolen Auto Unit.  

The stolen vehicle is described as a 2007 white Mazda 5 Wagon. As a result of the collision, the vehicle sustained extensive damage to the front end, roof and windshield. It has since been recovered by police.

The suspect is described as male, approximately 17-years-old, aboriginal in appearance, slim build and short dark hair. He was observed wearing dark pants, black and white t-shirt and a black wrist band.
