Thursday, December 1, 2016     2017 K-9 Calendars on Sale Sick children will be the beneficiaries of the 2017 Winnipeg Police Service Canine Unit Calendar.  All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities® Manitoba. An initial donation of $7500.00 will be presented to RMHCMB by members of the WPS Canine Unit.  Earlier this year, a newborn son of one of the officers in the unit suffered a serious illness.  The staff at RMHCMB offered their support to him and his family. Ronald McDonald House Charities® Manitoba is a home away from home for families of sick children and located two blocks from Children's Hospital at Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg.  It offers 14 bedrooms, games room, play area, bathrooms, large kitchen, all spread over three stories and 11,000 square feet. Also, Ronald McDonald Family Room extends the mission to within the walls of the Health Sciences Centre's Children's Hospital in Winnipeg. This space within the hospital is a place of respite and comfort for families with children who are patients at HSC Children's Hospital and need to take a break from the hospital environment.
