Sunday, September 9, 2012 FIRE C12-181531 On Sunday, September 9, 2012 at approximately 2:50 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a fire in the 200 block of Garry Street. An investigation revealed that a fire was ignited in a garbage bin at the rear of a building and as a result of the fire, the building sustained smoke and fire damage to the rear wall. All individuals in the building were evacuated due to smoke from the fire. No one was injured as a result of the incident. Damage is estimated at $50,000 dollars. The investigation is continuing by members of the Arson Strike Force. INDECENT ACT ARREST C12-181074 On Saturday, September 8, 2012 at approximately 3:20 p.m., an on duty Winnipeg Police Member in civilian clothing was walking in the area of Waterfront Drive and Lombard Avenue when a male indecently exposed himself to the officer and proceeded to conduct an indecent act. Uniform members attended to the area and located the male who was still in the immediate area. He was arrested and taken into custody. He was released on an Appearance Notice. COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARREST C12-114906 On June 16, 2012 at approximately 11:55 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of commercial robbery in the area of the 900 block of Main Street. The investigation revealed that two males attended to the location and approached a 50 year old male employee. The males demanded cash and proceeded to assault the victim by spraying him with bear spray and striking him about his lower body with a weapon. Both suspects fled from the store without obtaining any property. The victim was conveyed to hospital with minor injuries. The Major Crimes Unit entered into an investigation and as a result, on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at approximately 3:25 p.m., one of the suspects was located in the area of Alfred Avenue and Aikins Street.
