Winnipeg Police Service Missing Person Unit working tirelessly with a Child Recovery Team from Interpol Mexico over the past number of months to solve this case.

While working on a related lead in Mexico, the Child Recovery Team from Interpol Mexico was advised on Thursday night, May 25, of a tip that the children were at a location in Guadalajara, Mexico. This tip was a result of the Winnipeg Police Service, Missing Person Unit, contacting Univision , Jalisco, a local media outlet in Mexico, and providing them with the related photos along with the Winnipeg Police Service Youtube video and Crime Stoppers Video. This information was subsequently viewed by an individual who recognized the children and suspects. This individual subsequently contacted the Find Foundation, a local agency in Guadalajara set up to help families of missing people. They in turn passed the information on to the Child Recovery Unit from Interpol, Mexico.

Detectives from the Child Recovery Unit of Interpol Mexico, who were already in a nearby area focusing on a related lead, immediately attended to the location and with the assistance of specialized police units. At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, the children were taken into care.
