MISSING PERSON – Tony WIEBE - C13-057102
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing 63 year old male, Tony WIEBE.
 
WIEBE was last seen on March 27, 2013 at approximately 12:00 p.m. in the Downtown area of Winnipeg.

WIEBE is described as Caucasian, 6' in height, 190 pounds with scraggly shoulder length grey hair, balding at the top.  He was last seen wearing a blue jacket with a hood, black pants and glasses.
 
Police are concerned for WIEBE'S wellbeing.  Anyone with information regarding WIEBE's whereabouts is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – C13-58747
On Friday, March 29, 2013 at approximately 3:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the area of Chancellor Matheson Road and University Crescent for the report of a motor vehicle collision.
 
Attending officers met with University of Manitoba security who advised that three suspects were observed to flee from the lone vehicle involved in the collision.
 
Investigation has revealed that the vehicle had been travelling eastbound on Chancellor Matheson at a high rate of speed when it struck the curb, proceeded over the sidewalk and came to rest after hitting an elevated stairwell.

The occupants of the vehicle have since been identified and the investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.

SEXUAL  ASSAULT INVESTIGATION     C13-057713
On Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 at approximately 5:45 p.m. Winnipeg Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Portage Avenue for the report of a sexual assault.
 
The investigation revealed, while shopping, a 23 year old female victim was approached by an unknown male who attempted to engage her in conversation. The victim attempted to walk away and at that time the suspect sexually assaulted her. The victim yelled and the male fled the area.
 
The suspect is described as: aboriginal in appearance, 22 to 24 years of age, 5'8" tall, 250 pounds, with a speech impediment, wearing a grey hoodie and black sweat pants.

SEXUAL  ASSAULT  INVESTIGATION     C13-057652
On Wednesday, March 27th, 2013, at approximately 10:00 a.m. a 21 year old female was in the area of the Osborne Street Bridge when she walked past an unknown male.  It was at this time the female victim was sexually assaulted.  The male left the area.  The victim did not sustain any injuries and was able to contact police. 
 
The suspect is described as: aboriginal in appearance, mid 20's, 5'8" in height, medium to large build, wearing black clothing.

Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

FIREARMS SEIZURE AND ARREST    C13-38600
On February 26th, 2013 Winnipeg Police Service arrested a 54 year old male from Winnipeg. He was charged with Uttering Threats and various firearms offences including Possession of Firearm while prohibited. During the incident a shot gun was seized.
 
An investigation into the firearm's background was initated by detectives from East District Station, the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team and the Winnipeg Police Service Firearms Investigative Analysis Section. 
 

 

     

 As a result of this investigation a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 400 block of Rue St Jean Baptise. At this time police seized 101 firearms, 15 of which are restricted/prohibited handguns as well as thousands of rounds of assorted ammunition.  A 57 year old male from Winnipeg was arrested. Numerous firearms related charges are pending, including Transferring a Firearm Without Authority.
 
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear.
 

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARREST    C13-55934
On March 25th, 2013 at approximately 12:00 a.m. general patrol members responded to a report of a commercial robbery in the 800 block of Cavalier Drive. The accused produced what appeared to be a hand gun, demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
 
A Winnipeg Police K-9 unit initiated a track and a 29 year old male suspect was located hiding in a rear yard in the area. A replica handgun was also located and seized.
 
Elvis Turtle, from rural Manitoba has been charged with the following offences:
 

  • Robbery with a Firearm
  • Use Imitation Firearm during Commission of Offence
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Breach of Probation

 
He was detained in custody.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY    C13-57274
On Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police officers responded to a report of a commercial robbery in the 3500 block of Roblin Boulevard.
 
Three male suspects entered the business and demanded the clerk open the till. The suspects fled the premises with an undisclosed amount of cash and various tobacco products. The suspects fled the area. There were no injuries sustained.

MERASTY  is described as:Aboriginal, 5'4" in height, 140 pounds with long straight black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green jacket with fur and dark blue jeans.

INDECENT ACT C13-54975
Today, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Uniform Patrol members responded to the area of Antrim Road and Louelda Street regarding the report of an indecent act.
 
Officers were advised that a 23 year old female was approached by an unknown male while in her vehicle. The male knocked on the driver's side window, getting the victim's attention when he exposed himself and performed an indecent act. The victim shouted at the male and he fled the area on foot.
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian, in his late 20's, 5'10" tall, medium build, wearing a black toque, dark sweater with a pattern on it and sunglasses.
 
No contact was made and the victim was not injured.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crime Unit.

STOLEN VEHICLE – ARRESTS
On March 21, 2013 at approximately 6:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 1300 block of Raleigh Street regarding a stolen vehicle incident.
 
It was determined that a red GMC pick-up truck had been stolen at some point during the past several hours.
 
The investigation progressed at which time officers located the stolen truck in the west back lane of the 400 block of Furby Street. Officers attended to a nearby residence at which time a 29 year old female was taken into custody. It was at this time a male suspect was observed climbing out of a 3rd floor window onto the roof top of the residence.
 
A short time later, the 30 year old male was safely removed from the rooftop and taken into custody with the assistance of the Winnipeg Fire Department. 
 
The male and female are facing the following charge: Motor Vehicle Theft. They were released on a Promise to Appear.  
 
 
MISSING PERSON – Monica Sonya CARPENTER C13-39174
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 16 year old female, Monica CARPENTER.
 
CARPENTER was last seen on March 14th, 2013 at approximately 12:00 p.m. in the downtown area of Winnipeg.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service considers CARPENTER to be a child in need of protection as she is at high risk of being exploited or victimized and investigators are concerned for her well-being.
 
CARPENTER is described as: Aboriginal, 5'9" tall, 230 lbs., long black hair usually worn in a ponytail and brown eyes.  She was last seen wearing dark blue shoes, blue Jets hoody and dark blue jeans.

MALE WANTED -  ROY SAMUEL WILLIAMS C12-256228
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a male wanted, 33 year old, Roy Samuel WILLIAMS.
 
The investigation pertains to a financial robbery incident that occurred on December 20, 2012 in the area of the 1500 block of Kenaston Boulevard.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit and an arrest warrant has been issued for WILLIAMS.
 
WILLIAMS is described as: Aboriginal, 6'00" tall, 195 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes, medium build and possible goatee.

SUSPICIOUS MALE AND VEHICLE C13-51627
On March 18, 2013 at approximately 9:15 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a suspicious incident in the area of the 1000 block of Clifton Street.
 
Officers met with an 8 year old female and 9 year old male who advised that they had been approached by an unknown male in a vehicle.
 
The children indicated that the male suspect called them over to his truck and offered them candy. The male was ignored and the children fled the area notifying their caregivers. No contact was made and the children were not injured.
 
The suspect and vehicle is described as: Caucasian male, unshaven, wearing a black toque, driving a white 2 door pick-up truck.

SHOTS FIRED C13-52709
On March 20, 2013 at approximately 1:20 a.m., officers responded to the area of the 400 block of Victor Street regarding shots fired into a residence.
 
It has been determined that a firearm discharge took place causing damage to a home which was occupied at the time. No injuries were reported.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C13-52673
On March 20, 2013, just after midnight, officers responded to a bar located in the 3000 block of Ness Avenue regarding a robbery that just occurred.
 
The investigation has revealed that three male suspects armed with bear spray entered the business and confronted staff. One of the suspects jumped over the counter and began demanding cash. An undisclosed amount was obtained and the suspects fled the business.  The bear spray was not discharged and no injuries were reported.
 
All three male suspects were described as Aboriginal in appearance, in their early 20's, wearing dark clothing.

Please be advised that 73 year old, Carmin CUZIN has been safely located.
