MISSING PERSON – EMILY SARA HOBSON   R13-67528
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing 15 year old female, Emily Sara HOBSON.
 
HOBSON was last seen on Wednesday, October 30th, 2013 in the downtown area of Winnipeg.  
 
HOBSON is described as: Aboriginal, 6'1" tall, 236 pounds with straight, long, brown hair and brown eyes. There is no clothing description available at this time.

 
 


 

 

The Winnipeg Police Service considers HOBSON to be a child in need of protection. Police are concerned for her wellbeing.

ASSAULT INVESTIGATION – ARREST   C13-187116
As previously released -On October 2, 2013 the Winnipeg Police Service released photos of a male suspect responsible for an assault on a City of Winnipeg Transit driver and requested the public's assistance in identifying him.
 
At that time, it was advised that on September 14, 2013 at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to an assault that just occurred involving a City Transit Bus Driver.
 
The investigation revealed that the bus was travelling eastbound on William Avenue when it stopped near Isabel Street and an unknown male suspect entered. The suspect failed to pay the required fare and began demanding a transfer from the 50 year-old male transit driver. It was at this time the suspect began assaulting the driver repeatedly causing non-life threatening injuries.
 
After approximately 2-3 minutes, two unknown males entered the bus attempting to intervene. One of those males was also assaulted by the suspect.
 
The suspect eventually exited the bus where a confrontation continued nearby involving the suspect and several unknown males.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit and Transit surveillance video of the incident was made available to the public.
 
Due to the assistance provided by members of the public, a suspect was identified. Our YouTube video of the assault was viewed more than 40,000 times.
 
Early this morning, District 3 members responded to an unrelated matter in the 200 block of Selkirk Avenue. It was at this time a 23 year old male was taken into custody and arrested due to his alleged involvement regarding the assault to the Transit driver.
 
He is currently in police custody and charges are pending.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service would like to thank the public and members of the media for their assistance in this matter.

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION   C13-222903
As previously released - On October 30, 2013 at approximately 8:00 a.m., police and other emergency personnel responded to the 400 block of King Street to check on the well-being of an unresponsive male.
 
Jamie COOK, 23 years of Winnipeg was located deceased.
 
Members of the Homicide Unit continue to investigate. Family notifications have been made.
 
The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.

INDECENT ACT   R13-80161
On October 30, 2013 at approximately 8:00 a.m., a 14 year-old female observed an unknown male following her in a vehicle while in the area of the 700 block of Aberdeen Avenue.
 
At one point, the suspect exited his vehicle and exposed himself however, no contact was made. The suspect left the area in a vehicle and the female victim notified an adult immediately. Police were subsequently called to the area.
 
The suspect and vehicle is described as:
 

  • Caucasian, male, 30-40 years of age, tall, thin build, rugged looking face, blonde, spiky hair shaved on both sides, wearing: black jeans, white t-shirt and black jacket.
  • White car, spare tire on back, possibly having black running boards.

 
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit have been notified.

FIRE – C13-222372
On October 29, 2013 at approximately 1:40 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Portage Avenue and Albany Street for the report of a fire.
 
Attending members located a fire involving a plastic culvert that runs beneath Portage Avenue.  Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services were able to bring the fire under control and extinguish it shortly thereafter.
 
Portage Avenue between Lyle Street and Ferry Road were closed to both eastbound and westbound traffic and remains so at this time.
 
No injuries were reported.

SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – C13-222335
On October 29, 2013 at shortly after 12:30 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of St Annes Road and Bishop Grandin Boulevard for the report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving two pedestrians.
 
Two female youths were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.  The condition of one of the youths has since been upgraded.
 
Several police units remain on scene and road closures are still in effect.  Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
 
The investigation is in the early stages and is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident who has not yet spoken with Police is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6271or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 14 year old male, Dylan MORRISETT. MORRISETT was last seen on the Fort Rouge area of Winnipeg on Friday, October 11, 2013.
 
MORRISETT is described as: Caucasian, 5'4" tall with a thin build, short brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing all black clothing and has been seen riding a bicycle.
 
Police are concerned for MORRISETT's well-being and are asking anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at (204) 986-6250.

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing 14 year old male, Montel Ashton MACKAY.  MACKAY was last seen in early October in the North End area of Winnipeg.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service considers MACKAY to be a child in need of protection and investigators are very concerned for his well-being. 
 
MACKAY frequents the north end of Winnipeg as well as the Forks and Kildonan Place Mall.
 
MACKAY is described as: Aboriginal, 5'6" tall, approximately 120 pounds with a medium build, short straight brown hair and brown eyes.  He occasionally wears glasses.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST – C13-220818
On October 27, 2013 shortly before 6:00 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to a convenience store in the area of Henderson Highway and Sutton Avenue for the report of an assault in progress.
 
Responding members arrived to find an adult female and two adult males, one an off-duty Winnipeg Police Service member suffering from wounds sustained during an assault by a lone male who was no longer on scene.  The officer was transported to hospital in stable condition.  The two other victims did not require medical attention.
 
Investigation revealed that the officer had arrived to find the female victim being assaulted by the suspect outside of the store.  He identified himself as a police officer and attempted to intervene in an attempt to allow the victim to reach safety.  Upon doing so, the suspect turned his attention to the officer and proceeded to assault him about the upper body.  It was at this time a bystander attempted to assist the officer at which point the suspect turned on him, assaulting him about the upper body as well.  All three victims were able to enter the store and the suspect fled shortly thereafter.
 
The suspect was located a short time later in the 300 block of Sutton Avenue at which time he was taken into custody without incident.
 
A 26 year old male from Winnipeghas been charged with:

  • Assault x 2
  • Assault a Peace Officer
  • Aggravated Assault of Peace Officer

He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
ASSAULT POLICE OFFICER ARREST – C13-221159
On October 27, 2013 at approximately 7:30 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to hotel in the 600 block of Balmoral Street for the report of people fighting.

Upon arrival the only participant from the fight remaining was an intoxicated female who became combative with officers, kicking them both several times in the upper body.
 
Neither officer suffered serious injury.
 
The 17 year old female from Winnipeg was arrested and has been charged with Assault a Peace Officer x 2 & Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.
 
She was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.


THEFT ARRESTS – R13-078580
On October 27, 2013 shortly after 5:30 a.m. Division 11 uniform members were patrolling in the area of William Avenue and Isabel Street when they observed a stolen vehicle with three occupants.  A traffic stop was initiated and the three were taken into custody without incident.


Upon arrest the three suspects were found to be in possession of several stolen pieces of identification and credit cards.

Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit continued with the investigation.

Ernest Clark BEAULIEU 31 years along with a 22 year old female & 57 year old male are facing a multitude of offences including Identity Theft x 12, Possess Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00 x 12, Possess Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00 & Possess – use credit card data x 5 for their alleged involvement.

BEAULIEU was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.  The other two were released via Promises to Appear.

ASSAULT - C13-220810
On October 27, 2013 at approximately 5:30 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 400 block of Webb Place for the report of a male having been assaulted.
 
Attending members located a 59 year old security guard suffering from injuries resulting from being physically assaulted.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition.
 
Investigation has revealed that in the course of his duties the security guard had come across an adult male and female drinking in the lobby.  When asked to leave, the male suspect proceeded to assault the victim after which both suspects fled.
 
Several people were taken into custody but were later released without charge.
 
The male suspect is described as: Caucasian with darker skin, 30-40 years of age, 5'10" tall with a larger build and short dark hair wearing a white hoody with sparkle designs and crowns.
 
The female suspect is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, 20-30 years of age, 5'9" tall with a skinny build and long dark straight hair wearing a button up black leather jacket and black boots up to her knees.
