ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON – ARREST C12-176170
On September 2, 2012, at approximately 1:00 a.m., emergency personnel responded to stabbing incident in the area of the 300 block of McKelvey Street.
 
Attending members located a 30 year old female victim inside a residence suffering from an injury consistent with being stabbed.  
 
The victim was initially listed as being unstable, however she is currently in stable condition.
 
At this stage of the investigation, it appears that the victim and an 18 year old female became involved in a dispute while inside a residence. The situation escalated at which time the 18 year old produced knife and allegedly stabbed the victim.
 
Due to the efforts of Division 11 uniform patrol members, the 18 year old was located and arrested at the scene. She is facing the following charges: Aggravated Assault and Failure to Comply with a Sentence x 2.
 
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Section.
 
The 18 year old accused is currently being processed and will be detained.
 
 
STABBING INVESTIGATION – ARREST C12-175893
On September 1, 2012, at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing incident in the area of Tylehurst Street and Portage Avenue.
 
The investigation has revealed that two 20 year old males had been travelling on a city transit bus eastbound on Portage Avenue. A short time later, a third male attended and approached the two males already on the bus.
 
It was at this time that an altercation erupted. As a result of the incident, a 20 year old male was stabbed. During the assault, the second 20 year old male attempted to intervene and the suspect fled the bus.
The two 20 year old males also fled the area to a nearby residence, later located by attending officers.
 
It has been determined that the victim and suspect are known to one another. The incident appears to be as a result of an on-going dispute.
 
The victim is in stable condition and facing charges in relation to breaching conditions of his sentence order. He was detained.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 12 Crime Unit.
 
 
ROBBERY – ARRESTS C12-176013
On September 1, 2012, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service members responded to an assault incident in the area of the 900 block of Sherbrook Street.
 
Emergency personnel located a 44 year old male suffering from upper body injuries. He is in stable condition.
 
It's alleged that two male suspects confronted the victim and proceeded to physically assault him. While the victim was on the ground, the assault continued at which time he was robbed of a quantity of cash. The suspects fled the area.
 
While still investigating, officers located the suspects in the area and placed them under arrest at approximately 12:10 a.m.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit.
 
A 23 year old male and 22 year old male are currently being processed and facing the following charge: Robbery with Violence. The 22 year old is also facing a charge of: Breach of Probation.
 
They have been detained.
 
 
FIRE C12-176141
On September 2, 2012, at approximately 12:15 a.m., emergency crews responded to a working fire located in the 900 block of Pritchard Avenue.
 
Due to the fire, a camper trailer, two vehicles and a residence sustained extensive damage. Estimates of the damage are currently $50,000.00.  
 
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
 
Members of the Arson Strike Force have been notified. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204 986-6813 or Crime Stoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
