COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES – ARRESTS C12-198612
Between September and October 2012, several robberies were reported to police involving two male suspects.
 
On September 29, 2012 at approximately 8:35 p.m., two male suspects entered a convenience store located in the 400 block of Aikins Street and confronted an employee (54 year old female) with a knife. The suspects robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes before fleeing. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
 
On October 1, 2012 at approximately 6:20 p.m., the same business was robbed of cash and cigarettes in a similar manner. It was at this time a 29 year old male customer present was also robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. Again, no one was injured during the incident and the suspects fled the area on foot.  
 
On October 8, 2012, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a 37 year old male victim was confronted after exiting an ATM area located in the 1400 block of Main Street. The suspect was armed with a knife and attempted to conceal his identity. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was not injured.

As a result of on-going investigations by members of the Major Crimes Unit, both suspects were identified and arrested.
 
Shawn Mathew MICHAUD, 21 years has been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement: Robbery with a Weapon x 4 and Disguise with Intent.
 
Derek Thomas PISTAGNESI, 26 years has been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement: Robbery with a Weapon x 3. 
 

Both males were detained.
