ATTEMPT MURDER – ARREST C13-105486
On June 1, 2013 at approximately 12:25 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing incident that occurred in an apartment complex located in the 200 block of Atlantic Avenue.
 
The investigation has revealed that two males known to one another became involved a verbal confrontation while in their building complex. A 69 year-old-male produced a knife and stabbed a 76 year-old-male, causing life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported from the scene and eventually upgraded to stable condition.
 
The 69 year-old-male suspect was identified and arrested at the scene. Brian BALES has been charged with Attempt Murder due to his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained.    
 
 
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION C13-106171
On June 2, 2013 at approximately 9:10 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the rear of the 200 block of Dumoulin Street regarding a body located.
 
Attending members which included, Uniform Patrol, Forensic Identification Unit, Cadets and members of the Homicide Unit observed that the male victim had sustained upper body injuries considered suspicious in nature.
 
The deceased has been identified as 23 year old, Kyle DEVASCONCELOS of Winnipeg.
 
The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.  
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C13-106013
On June 3, 2013 at approximately 1:55 a.m., officers responded to a business located in the 1800 block of Portage Avenue regarding a robbery incident.
 
An armed male suspect confronted a 22 year-old-male employee and robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cigarettes. The employee was not injured and the suspect fled the area on foot.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, in his twenties, 5'5" tall, slim build and goatee. 
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C13-106686
On June 3, 2013 at approximately 3:45 a.m., officers responded to a business located in the 1600 block of King Edward Street regarding a robbery incident.
 
It was reported that a male suspect smashed through a locked door of the business and confronted a 29 year-old-male employee.    
 
The suspect was armed at the time of the incident however, no injuries were sustained.
 
The suspect fled after removing the cash register from the counter area however, no cash was obtained. He is described as: Male, Caucasian, early twenties, 5'6" tall, having a slim build and facial hair on his chin.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
