STABBING INVESTIGATION C13-116047
On June 14, 2013 at approximately 11:40 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service and other emergency personnel responded to a residence located in the 500 block of Home Street regarding a stabbing incident.
 
At this time, it appears that an altercation took place involving persons known to one another, resulting in an adult male sustaining an injury consistent with being stabbed.
 
The male was transported from the scene in critical condition.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate, interviews are on-going.   
 
 
GROW OPERATION – ARREST R13-37232
On June 14, 2013 at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service Marihuana Grow Operation Unit (MGO) with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team (TST) and Patrol members executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence located in the first 100 block of Attache Drive.
 
As a result, the following was located and seized:
 
631 Marihuana Plants – estimated street value $706,720.00
4 lbs. dry packaged marihuana – estimated street value $10,000.00
Grow Operation equipment – valued at $25,000.00
 
A 61 year old female was located inside the home and arrested.
 
She is facing the following offences:
 
Production of Controlled Substance – Marihuana
Possessing Substance for Purposes of Trafficking – Marihuana
 
She was released on a Promise to Appear.
 

 

STABBING C13-116202
On June 15, 2013 at approximately 3:20 a.m., Patrol members responded to a stabbing incident that occurred in the area of Austin Street North and Euclid Avenue involving a 48 year old male.
 
At this stage of the investigation, it appears that the victim was confronted by unknown suspects and assaulted to the upper body.
 
He is in stable condition.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 13 Crime Unit.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY C13-116132
On June 15, 2013 at approximately 1:30 a.m., two adult male victims were confronted by four male suspects while in the area of the 200 block of Provencher Boulevard.
 
The suspects were armed and robbed the victims of their cellular devices.
 
Patrol members, members of the Flight Operations Unit (Air1) and the Canine Unit responded.
 
No arrests have been made at this time.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2857 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE C13-115963
On June 14, 2013 at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Portage Avenue and Tylehurst Street regarding a suspicious package being located.
 
For public safety reasons, a business was evacuated, traffic was diverted and the immediate area was secured for a period of time.
 
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Bomb Unit were deployed.
 
At approximately 1:40 a.m., the package and area was deemed safe.
