COMMERCIAL BREAK-IN – ARRESTS C13-136490
Between May 4th and May 7th, 2012, a break and enter occurred at a construction trailer located in the area of Oak Lawn Road. As a result, approximately $10,000.00 worth of construction equipment was stolen.
 
Between October 12th and October 13th, 2012, a break and enter occurred at a home under construction located in the area of Sablewood Road. Appliances valued at nearly $3000.00 were stolen.
 
Between March 30th and April 1st, 2013, a break and enter occurred to a condominium under construction located in the Landmark, Manitoba area. Several tools were stolen from the site.
 
On July 10th, 2013, two males attended to the area of the 200 block of Kenny Street at which time several construction trailers were broken into and numerous construction tools were removed. The tools are valued at approximately $5000.00.
 
The July 10th, 2013 incident was observed by a witness resulting in police being notified.
 
Attending members observed a black truck attempting to flee and evade police. Due to the manner of driving by the suspect, a police cruiser was almost struck.
 
A short time later, the suspect vehicle became involved in a motor vehicle collision with a parked car in the area of Portland Avenue. The suspect fled the area.
 
On July 11th, 2013 the black truck that previously fled from police was located in the Landmark, Manitoba area.
 
Members of the East District Crime Unit, with the assistance of Patrol members and the Forensic Identification Unit continued with the investigation.
 
Scott Sheldon LITTLE, 36 years-old and Wesley Dean MUNROE 32 years-old have been charged with numerous offences due to their alleged involvement. They were detained.
 
A 53 year-old female and 35 year-old female are also facing charges. They were released on a Promise to Appear/Appearance Notice.
 
On July 12th, 2013, a search warrant was executed at a residence located in Landmark, Manitoba resulting in the recovery of numerous stolen items.
 
The investigation is continuing.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – ARRESTS C13-137426
On July 12, 2013 at approximately 3:30 a.m., two male suspects attended to the area of a convenience store located in the 1300 block of Main Street. Prior to entering the business, the males attempted to conceal their identity and began acting in a suspicious manner. This activity was observed by staff and the business front doors were secured.
 
The suspects attempted to gain entry but were unsuccessful. Police were notified and the suspects fled.
 
Approximately one hour later, the suspects returned and were observed acting in a similar fashion. Staff members again secured the business preventing them from entering. Police were notified once again.
 
After a brief foot pursuit involving Patrol members and a successful track by members of the Canine Unit, both males were located and arrested.
 
Daniel BRETON, 19 years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement: Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence (Robbery), Disguise with Intent and Breach of Probation x 2.
 
Matthew MIRON, 18 years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement: Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence (Robbery) and Disguise with Intent.
 
Both males were detained. 
 
 
BREAK-IN – ARRESTS C13-137391
Between June 13th and July 12th, 2013, numerous break-ins and thefts occurred in the District 3 area involving vehicles and garages.
 
The incidents are as follows:
 
June 13th-15th – vehicle broken into, 300 block of Atlantic Avenue
June 14th - vehicle broken into, 300 block of Atlantic Avenue
July 10th – Mountain bike stolen from an unknown location
July 12th – Cellular phone stolen from vehicle – unknown location
July 12th – Garage broken into, 300 block of Matheson Avenue – shotgun and case stolen
 
The stolen shotgun was hidden in the area by the suspects and later recovered by officers.


July 12th – Garage broken into and a garden tool was stolen
July 12th – Garage broken into, 400 block of McAdam Avenue – two vehicles damaged and cash stolen
July 12th – Garage broken into, 400 block of Matheson and two vehicles were rummaged through
 
It was during the latest incident when the homeowner heard suspicious activity coming from his garage and observed the two suspects hiding inside. Police were notified and responded immediately.
 
Both suspects were arrested and taken into custody by Patrol members. It was at this time several stolen items were recovered.
 
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit continued with the investigation.
 
A 17 year-old male and 15 year old-male have been charged with 35 offences in relation to their alleged involvement.
 
Both were detained. 
 

 

INDECENT ACT C13-137417
On July 12, 2013 at approximately 4:00 a.m., Patrol members responded to the area of Sutherland Avenue and Annabella Street due to the report of an indecent act.
 
Officers were advised that a 23 year old female was walking home eastbound on Sutherland Avenue when she observed an unknown male following her. The male initially made comments of a sexual nature. He then proceeded to expose himself while performing an indecent act.
 
The victim contacted police immediately and safely made her way home.
 
The male suspect is described as: Caucasian, 25 years-old, 6'2" tall, medium build, brown medium length hair, goatee, wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants.
 
Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit have been notified.

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION C13-138236
On July 13, 2013, at approximately 3:45 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service and other emergency personnel responded to the area of McPhillips Street and Logan Avenue regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
 
The investigation has revealed that a red Toyota Corolla was travelling southbound on McPhillips Street when a pedestrian ran onto the roadway resulting in a collision.
 
The 27 year-old female pedestrian was transported from the scene in unstable condition, later upgraded to stable condition.
 
The roadway was closed to traffic until approximately 7:10 a.m. while officers investigated.
