SUSPICIOUS PERSON UPDATE – C13-195778
As previously released, on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to the 500 block of Nova Vista Drive for the report of a suspicious person.
 
Responding officers met with the owner of a home day care who advised that while she and children in her care were in the back yard an unknown male came to the fence saying that he wanted to "keep the children company".  The male was scared off and police were summoned.
 
The investigation continued by members of the East District Crime Unit and the male was identified.  It has been determined that his intentions were not criminal in nature and no charges will be laid.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service would like to thank members of the public and media for their assistance in this matter.
 
 
FINANCIAL ROBBERY – C13-200063
On Monday, September 30, 2013 shortly before 4:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to a financial institution in the 200 block of Portage Avenue.
 
The investigation has revealed that a lone male suspect entered the business and confronted one of the employees. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken and the suspect fled.
 
No one was injured during the incident.
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian with a fair complexion, early 50's, 5'9" tall, approximately 155 pounds with an average build.  He was wearing khaki coloured pants and a red jacket with a broad white stripe running down each sleeve from shoulder to cuff.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C13-200484
On Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at approximately 3:30 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a convenience store in the 200 block of St Marys Road for the report of a commercial robbery.
 
Attending members met with the 43 year old clerk.  He advised that an armed male had demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes after which he fled on foot.
 
The clerk was not injured.
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian, 6' tall with a large build and short brown hair.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
