FIREARMS INVESTIGATION UPDATE - ARRESTS – C13-268043
As previously released, on December 31, 2013 shortly after 2:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to the 700 block of Beverley Street for the report of a male armed with a firearm.
Upon police arrival people were seen running from the area. A foot pursuit resulted in the apprehension of two fleeing suspects. A firearm was recovered.
There were no injuries and no shots were fired.
Several people were taken into custody and the investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
It was learned that a 33 year old male had attended to check on his 30 year old female friend who was hosting a party where several uninvited guests were in attendance. Along with the male were the woman's 15 year old son and 13 year old daughter. While the male was attempting to get the unwanted people out of the house, three of the party goers took offence and one of them produced a firearm. The victims fled and police were summoned.
Patrick Roy LAVALLEY 19 years and two 17 year old males all of Winnipeg have been charged with several offences for their alleged involvement.
All three were detained in custody.
CDSA SEARCH WARRANT ARRESTS – C13-268140
On December 31, 2013 as a result of an investigation by members of the East District Community Support Unit, and assisted by the Tactical Support Team, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant was executed at a residence in the 700 block of David Street.
Two males located within the residence were taken into custody without incident.
The following was seized:
- Loaded .45 calibre Interstate Arms 1911-A1 Regent Semi-Automatic handgun
- Collapsible baton
- Ballistic body armour
- 18.6 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $1488.00
- 38 grams of marihuana with an estimated street value of $380.00
- $5465.00 in Canadian currency
- Drug paraphernalia
Jesse Carl MCMILLAN 26 years of Winnipeg was arrested for his alleged involvement and charged with several drug and firearm related offences. He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
A 52 year old male from Winnipeg was arrested for his alleged involvement and is facing several drug and firearm related offences. He was released via a Promise to Appear.
