Indecent Act – C14-112796
On May 31, 2014 members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of an Indecent Act.
 
Officers met with the 23 year old female victim who related that at approximately 1:30 p.m. she had been walking in the 3300 block of Portage Avenue.  At that time a vehicle being driven by an unknown male parked so as to block her way.  The male proceeded to roll down his window and the victim observed him to be performing an indecent act.  She immediately fled and contacted police.
 
The suspect male is described as: Caucasian, 40-50 years of age, 170 pounds with short hair, grey at the temples.  He was clean shaving and was wearing khaki beige shorts and a dark grey or black t-shirt.
 
The vehicle is described as: a clean, newer four door greyish blue SUV with silver rims and slight tint in the back windows.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the West District Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Suspicious Death Investigation – C14-113565
On June 1, 2014 shortly before 1:00 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1st 100 block of Hargrave Street for the report of suspicious circumstances.
 
An adult male was found deceased within a suite.
 
An autopsy is pending and no further information is available at this time.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
Aggravated Assault Arrests – C14-113628
On June 1, 2014 at approximately 2:45 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a community centre in the 1st 100 block of Sinclair Street for the report of a male having been assaulted.
 
Several units attended and two suspects were located and arrested without incident in the area of Logan Avenue and McPhillips Street. 
 
A 16 year old male suffering injury to his upper body was located and transported to hospital in stable condition.
 
Investigation has revealed that the suspects had been present at the community centre when the victim, along with two others, had attended.  The two parties became involved in a verbal altercation which escalated to the point where one of the suspects struck the victim with a baseball bat.  An unsuccessful attempt by the suspect to strike a second victim was also made after which both suspects fled on foot.
 
The investigation continued by members of the District 3 Crime Unit.
 
Two males, 16 & 17 years of Winnipeg have both been charged with Assault with a Weapon & Aggravated Assault for their alleged involvement.
 
The 16 year old was released via a Promise to Appear.
 
The 17 year old was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
