Thursday, June 26, 2014     Officer Involved Shooting – Update- Arrest  C14-128514 As previously released, on June 19, 2014 at approximately 9:20 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of suspicious circumstances in the area of a gas bar in the 300 block of Wardlaw Avenue.   Upon arrival, officers were confronted by a male suspect which resulted in one of the officers discharging his firearm.  The 21-year-old suspect was struck in the upper body and later transported to hospital in stable condition.   As a result of the continued investigation by members of the Major Crimes Unit, on June 25, 2014, the 21-year-old suspect was arrested.   The investigation has revealed that on June 19, 2014 the suspect, while wearing a balaclava and armed with a knife, had attended to the area of Wardlaw Avenue and Donald Street where he was seen entering the gas bar kiosk. Police responded and encountered the suspect inside the kiosk.
