Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision Update – C14-268007
As previously released, on December 16, 2014 at approximately 2:40 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Dugald Road and Lagimodiere Boulevard for the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a semi tractor-trailer.
 
The adult male driver of the semi was pronounced deceased at the scene.  His name will not be released.
 
Early investigation has revealed that multiple vehicles had been involved in a collision ahead of the semi.  When the driver stopped to avoid the involved vehicles, the load of scrap railway track being carried on the trailer penetrated the cab of the truck, pinning the driver.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter who has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6271 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
