Update - Commercial Break & Enter Arrests - C14-245332
On November 16, 2014, shortly before 6:00 a.m., an outdoor clothing business located in the 2000 block of Corydon Avenue was broken into via smashing a large window at the front of the store.
 
Once inside, the suspect(s) removed in excess of 40 Canada Goose winter jackets, with an estimated value of $15,000.
 
Members of the West District Crime Unit continued the investigation.
 
Some of the stolen property was taken to a business on Selkirk Avenue. On November 17, 2014, it was determined that an individual had posted an online advertisement offering Canada Goose Jackets for sale. As a result, a 35 year-old male was arrested at a business located in the 700 block of Selkirk Avenue. He is facing the following charge:
 
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00
 
The investigation continued and surveillance photos of two female suspects were made public. As a result, a 29-year-old female was arrested. She is facing the following charge:
 
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00
 
On December 2, 2014 at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers executed a warrant at a suite located in the 500 block of Young Street. While there, a male and a second female suspect previously mentioned was arrested, charged and remanded into custody.
 
Tahnee WAPASH, 27 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences due to her alleged involvement:
 
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00
Break Enter & Theft
 
Cornell Lee BELANGER, 33 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Sexual Assault C14-258060
On December 3, 2014 at approximately 11:45 a.m., a 23 year-old female was on the University of Winnipeg campus when she observed an unknown suspicious male watching her.
 
She proceeded to the escalators going from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor. As she was approaching the 4th floor, she was groped in the lower body from behind by the unknown male. The suspect then walk past the victim and left the area.
 
The victim immediately reported the incident to security and police were notified.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, 22 years-old, dark or tanned complexion, 5'6" tall, heavy build, squinty eyes, clean shaven, wearing a black faded jacket with faded yellow reflective tape on the front.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6668 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
