Attempt Murder Arrest – C14-273660
On December 24, 2014 shortly before 8:30 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to a rooming house in the 600 block of Aberdeen Avenue for the report of a female having been shot.
 
Multiple units were dispatched and a 24-year-old female was located suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper body.  She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.
 
An 18-year-old male was located and arrested at the scene without incident.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
 
William Benjamin Dane HUNTER-GARRIOCH, 18 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following for his alleged involvement:

  • Attempt to Commit Murder
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 3
  • Discharge Air Gun or Pistol with Intent
  • Break Enter & Commit – Dwelling House

He was detained in custody.
 
 
Serious Motor Vehicle Collision – C14-274849
On December 27, 2014 at 1:30 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Sherbrook Street and Alexander Avenue for the report of a motor vehicle collision.
 
An adult male was located and transported to hospital in critical condition.
 
Sherbrook Street between Logan Avenue and Pacific Avenue remains closed to all traffic.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6271 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
