Commercial Robbery Update – Arrest - C14-178093
As previously released, on August 22, 2014 at approximately 1:15 a.m., officers patrolling in the area of the 700 block of Flora Avenue were flagged down by a 24 year-old female who had just been robbed.
 
It was discovered that the victim had been delivering pizza in the area when she was bear sprayed and robbed of a pizza order.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit who were able to identify a suspect.  On December 8th the suspect was located and arrested without incident.
 
Jeremy Kyle David SINCLAIR 22 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained in custody.
 
 
Commercial Robbery – C14-262120
On December 8, 2014 at approximately 8:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a convenience store in the 500 block of William Avenue for the report of a commercial robbery.
 
The 19-year-old employee advised that two unknown males had entered the store and attended to the counter where they proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cigarettes.  They then fled the store.

The clerk was not injured.
 
Both suspects are described as: Black, approximately 21 years of age with a medium build and short, dark afro style hair.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Commercial Robbery – C14-262175
On December 8, 2014 shortly after 9:30 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a hotel vendor in the 500 block of Dale Boulevard for the report of a commercial robbery.
 
Officers met with the 25-year-old employee who advised that two unknown males had entered the store and attended to the counter asking for merchandise.  When he turned to get the item, the suspects jumped the counter and forced him to open the till.  An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen after which the suspects fled the store.
 
The clerk was not injured.
 
Suspect #1 is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, 5'11" - 6' tall, 180 pounds.
 
Suspect #2 is described as:  East Indian in appearance, 6'2" tall, 190 pounds.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).


FESTIVE SEASON CHECKSTOP PROGRAM -
WEEK #1 RESULTS

The Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Unit has provided the results from the first week of the Festive Season Check Stop Program. 

715 - Vehicles stopped
70 - Approved Screening Device (ASD) tests administered
14 - 24 hour suspensions issued (ASD Warnings)
5 - ASD Fails
13 - Drive Impaired / Drive Over 80mg% / Refusal Charges
61 - Traffic related Provincial Offence Notices (PON) issued
