Drug Investigation Arrests – C14-256737
On December 2, 2014 at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Division 11 Community Support Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, Division 12 Community Support Unit and Patrol members executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 1500 block of Wolseley Avenue West.  
 
As search of the residence revealed not only a quantity of illegal drugs but, as well as a significant amount of stolen property. The following items were seized by officers:

  • 8.5 grams – Methamphetamine
  • 2 grams - Ecstasy
  • 1 gram - Psilocybin
  • 4 grams – Marihuana
  • 4 replica handguns
  • 1 replica rifle
  • Pepper spray
  • Approximately $6000.00 cash

Approximately 100 stolen items were also located and seized consisting of, bikes, laptops, computer equipment, GPS's, tools, vacuums and numerous pieces of identity documents.
 
The following individuals have been arrested and charged with drug, weapon and or property related offences due to their alleged involvement:
 
Melissa Lynn JOHNSTON 31 years, Megan Elizabeth GALLAGHER 24 years and John David LEMKE 39 years all of Winnipeg were detained in custody.
 
Two males, 25 & 39 years of age from Winnipeg were released via Promises to Appear.
 
 
Commercial Break & Enter Arrest – C14-258621
On December 4, 2014 shortly after 5:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a pharmacy in the 600 block of Lodge Avenue for the report of a commercial break & enter.
 
Several units, including Canine attended to the scene.  No one was located within the business.  A lengthy & successful track by the Canine Unit led officers to a residence in the 1st 100 block of Rowland Avenue where the suspect was located and arrested within.  A search of the residence resulted in the recovery of stolen medication along with two 12 Gauge pump action shotguns and a .22 calibre pump action rifle.
 
Members of the West District Crime Unit continued with the investigation.
 
John Jay MACAULAY 43 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Break Enter & Commit, Possession of Break In Instruments, Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 3, Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition x 3 and Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance x 4 for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained in custody.
