Sexual Assault Investigation – Arrest C14-112098
As previously released on November 22, 2014, after a lengthy investigation by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Child Abuse Unit, Ronald Walter PETERSON, 68 years-old of Winnipeg was charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement:
 
Sexual Assault x 5
Sexual Interference x 5
 
The investigation had revealed that between January 1998 and May 2014, PETERSON had contact with five male victims under 16 years-of-age while engaged in a professional capacity as well as socializing in a public setting.
 
PETERSON was arrested on November 13th, 2014 and released on a Promise to Appear.
 
The investigation continued and four further victims came forward.  It was learned that between January 1, 1986 and December 31, 1993 PETERSON had contact with the victims who ranged in age from11-18 years of age at the time of the alleged offences.
 
PETERSON was arrested on April 23, 2015 and released on a Promise to Appear.  He has been further charged with:
 
Sexual Assault x 4
Overcoming Resistance to Commission of Offence

 

 
Weapons Arrests – C15-102255
On May 20, 2015 shortly after 4:30 a.m., District 3 members were on patrol in the area of Magnus Avenue and Andrews Street when they observed a vehicle with three occupants, which had been reported stolen on the evening of May 19, 2015.
 
The vehicle was stopped without incident in the area of Salter Street and Mountain Avenue where the suspects were arrested without incident.
 
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a Browning .22 calibre semi-automatic rifle with a cut off stock.
 
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit continued with the investigation.
 
Donavan Conner BRADBURN and Jared Kenley MOORE, both 18 years along with a 16-year-old male, all of Winnipeg,have been charged with several weapons and property related offences.
 
All three were detained.

 

 
Investigation Continues - Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision involving a Pedestrian 14-270194
As previously released- On December 19, 2014, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the intersection of Inkster Boulevard and McGregor Street regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The involved vehicle fled the area prior to police arrival. The pedestrian was transported from the scene in critical condition however he succumbed to his injuries.
 
The investigation revealed that the 21 year-old male pedestrian was crossing Inkster Boulevard northbound at McGregor Street when he was struck by a vehicle travelling westbound on Inkster Boulevard.
 
The suspect vehicle fled the scene leaving the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
 
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark coloured pick–up truck. Witness information suggests that a second vehicle was observed travelling in the same direction as the suspect vehicle soon after the pedestrian was hit. The occupant(s) of this vehicle may possess additional information regarding the collision and or suspect vehicle.

Sexual Assault – C15-103083
On May 21, 2015 at 12:45 a.m., a 14-year-old female was confronted by an unknown male while in the Vimy Ridge Park. The male began talking with the female offering her illegal drugs.
 
The female declined at which time the suspect grabbed her and forced her into a nearby vehicle. A serious sexual assault occurred.
 
The suspect is described as: male, Aboriginal in appearance, late 20's/early 30's, large build, 5'8" tall and black shoulder length hair. He was wearing: a dark leather jacket, white t-shirt and blue jeans.
 
The suspect vehicle is described as:a dark coloured van.   
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 

Indecent Act – 102084
On May 19, 2015 at approximately 8:00 p.m., a 15-year-old female was walking in a parking lot located in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue when she was approached by an unknown male in a vehicle.
 
The male suspect asked the female if she needed a ride which she declined. It was at this time the female observed the male exposing himself. The female and suspect left the area and no contact was made.
 
The suspect is described as: male, East Indian in appearance, in his 20's, dark complexion, medium build, short black hair and a short beard around his jawline. He was wearing: a short sleeved black striped shirt.
 
The suspect vehicle is described as: a silver/grey 4 door car. 
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the West District Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
