Homicide Investigation Update - Arrest - C15-101966
As previously released, on May 19, 2015, shortly before 6:00 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1st 100 block of Cheltenham Cove for the report of an injured female.

Officers attending to the scene arrived to find a female suffering from injuries to her upper body, which she later succumbed to.  She has been identified as Kathleen LEARY of Winnipeg.
 
Initial reports that a residential break & enter or home invasion had occurred are unfounded.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Homicide and Forensic Identification Units.

A youth from Winnipeg, who is known to the victim, has been charged with Second Degree Murder for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained in custody.
 
 
Motor Vehicle Collision Involving A Pedestrian
Update - Arrest –
C15-88507

As previously released, on May 2, 2015, shortly after 11:30 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Inkster Avenue and Bunting Street for the report of an injured, unconscious male.
 
A 22-year-old male was located suffering from injuries sustained in an apparent hit and run collision.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.
                                
The investigation continued by members of the Central Traffic Unit who were able to identify a suspect.
 
On the afternoon of May 20, 2015, officers located and arrested the suspect without incident.
 
A 75-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing a charge of Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident Involving Death.
 
He was released via a Promise to Appear.
