Homicide Investigation C15-115053
As previously released -On June 4, 2015 at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers and members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the 200 block of Dufferin Avenue regarding reports of an injured male.
An adult male identified as 29-year-old Elmer KAKEWASH was located suffering from an injury consistent with being stabbed. He was transported from the scene in critical condition and later pronounced deceased in hospital.
At this time, it has been determined that KAKEWASH was stabbed in the upper body after becoming involved in an altercation with a group of people.
No arrest(s) have been made at this time.
Results of an autopsy are pending however, family notifications have been made.

Update - Residential Robbery Arrest - C14-222638
As previously released -On October 18, 2014 just after midnight, officers responded to a residence located in the 800 block of Sheppard Street as a result of a robbery incident involving two suspects.
The armed suspects confronted the occupants and began demanding cash and prescription medication. A 60 yearold male victim sustained a non-life threatening injury in the upper body during the robbery. The suspects fled and police were notified.
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit. As a result, a male and female suspect was identified resulting in warrants being issued.
On January 31, 2015 officers arrested Crystal Marie SANDERSON, 32 years-old of Winnipeg for her alleged involvement.
On June 4, 2015, the male suspect was located and arrested without incident in the area of Stella Avenue and Aikins Street.
Christopher Mark THICKFOOT, 29 years of Winnipeghas been charged with the following for his alleged involvement.
Break Enter & Commit Robbery
Robbery x 2
Possession of a Weapon
Assault with a Weapon
Fail to comply with Probation Order x 2
He was remanded into custody.
Male Wanted Lance Pavel BEARDY Arrested - R15-33478
On May 15, 2015 the Winnipeg Police Service requested the public's assistance in locating a male identified as Lance Pavel BEARDY, 22 years-old.
Beardy was wanted in connection with a violent Aggravated Assault that occurred May 1st, 2015 in the area of Logan Avenue and Keewatin Street.
On the evening of June 4th, BEARDY was located and arrested without incident.
He has been charged with Aggravated Assault for his alleged involvement and was detained in custody.
