River Heights – Theft from Motor Vehicles – Arrests – C15-135502
On June 29, 2015 between 12:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., two male suspects attended to the area of Cambridge Street and Corydon Avenue, where they entered vehicles and began stealing property from area residents. The incidents are as follows:

  • 1100 block of Grosvenor Avenue - Cadillac Escalade
  • 700 block of Dorchester Avenue – Chevrolet Silverado
  • 300 block of Arlington Street – Honda Civic

 
An area resident observed the two males rummaging through a car in the area of Cambridge Street and Corydon Avenue at which time police were notified.

Both suspects were located and arrested in the area of Grant Avenue and Cambridge Street. They were found to be in possession of illegal drugs, stolen property, weapons and break-in tools.

Joseph Teddy MCKAY, 21-years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Possession of a Scheduled Substance
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Possession of an Identity Document
Possession of a Weapon
Theft Under $5000.00 x 3

Emeleo Alexander COLE, 21-years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Theft Under $5000.00 x 3
Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2

Both males were remanded into custody.


Update – Stabbing Arrest – C15-135427
As previously released – On June 29, 2015 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Division 11 officers were patrolling in the area of Furby Street and Ellice Avenue when they observed a female in need of assistance.

The female was stabbed and required immediate medical assistance. She was transported to hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable.

The investigation has revealed that a group of people known to each other had been consuming alcohol at the rear of a residence located in the 500 block of Ellice Avenue. An argument erupted and the victim was stabbed.

Officers in the area heard the victim calling for help and immediately attended to her location.   

An adult male suspect was located in a vehicle nearby. Gordon JACKSON, 56-years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Aggravated Assault
Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance

Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit continued to investigate.

He was remanded into custody.


Aggravated Assault Arrests – C15-135357
On June 29, 2015 at approximately 10:30 p.m., several individuals attended to a residence located in the 700 block of Simcoe Street and forced their way in.

The suspects while armed with a bat confronted one of the occupants and began assaulting him about the body rendering him unconscious.

The suspects fled in a vehicle and police were summoned. The victim, a 31-year-old male was transported to hospital with serious injuries. He was eventually stabilized due to the efforts of emergency personnel.

Patrol members and the Tactical Support Team located the suspects in the area of the 600 block of McGee Street.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued to investigate.

Kimberly Joyce Reimer, 37-years-old, Gordon Paul WENZEL, 28-years-old, Francis HARVEY, 28-years-old and Donald CARON, 39-years-old have been charged due to their alleged involvement: Some of the charges include:

Break Enter & Commit
Aggravated Assault
Uttering Threats x 4
Possession of a Weapon
Including several breaches

They were remanded into custody.
