Fraud Arrest – R15-55182
On July 27, 2015 Winnipeg Police Division 13 Investigators began an investigation into an allegation of fraud by 7 Oaks General Hospital.
Between June 29 and July 22, 2015 a male was employed by the hospital in the capacity of a Family Patient Care Manager. As a condition of employment the individual was required to be a licenced health care professional.
Concerns were raised about the validity of the accused's credentials. The College of Physiotherapists advised that the accused was not a licenced physiotherapist and the documentation provided to the hospital was likely forged. 7 Oaks Hospital immediately terminated the accused's employment and contacted police. The accused had been employed in a part-time administrative capacity and did not have contact with patients.
On Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 investigators arrested a 30 year old male from Winnipeg. He was charged with Fraud over $5000 and Forgery and released on a Promise to Appear.
