Serious incident - 200 block of River Avenue –
Update - C15-138922 & C15-138959

As previously released, on July 3, 2015, at approximately 10:15 the Winnipeg Police received reports of ‎shots fired or a possible explosion at a law firm in the 200 block of River Avenue. 

A 38-year-old female was located suffering from injuries to her upper body as a result of an apparent explosive device. She was transported to hospital in critical condition where she remains for treatment. 

Several units including the Bomb Unit, Tactical Support Team and uniform members attended.  Police remain on scene.

Members attended to a second incident in the 400 block of St Mary s Avenue for the report of a suspicious package that was later determined to be unfounded.

Investigators believe that this is an isolated incident and are not considering it as a continuing threat to the general public.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
