Sexual Assault Arrest – C15-144962
On July 9, 2015 at approximately 2:30 a.m., a 17-year-old female entered a taxi cab after being offered a free ride while in the area of Bishop Grandin Boulevard and Pembina Highway.
 
While seated in the front seat, the driver made inappropriate contact with the female at which time a sexual assault occurred.
 
After a short drive, the victim exited the cab and notified an adult of the incident.
 
Members of the East District Crime Unit continued the investigation which resulted in the suspect being identified.
 
On August 5, 2015, a 37 year-old-male was arrested and is now facing the following charges:
 
Sexual Assault
Sexual Interference
 
He was released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
Update - Indecent Act Arrest – C15-158588
As previously released - On July 30, 2015 at approximately 12:15 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of Kavanagh Street observed an unknown male seated on the front steps of their residence. Other residents attended to the front door at which time the male began speaking to two youths while ignoring the adults in the group. Despite numerous requests to leave, the male continued to focus on the youths. The male eventually left.
           
A short time later, the male was observed committing an indecent act in the rear of the residence. The male left when he was approached by neighbours.
                      
The investigation continued by East District detectives. As a result of the investigation, the suspect was identified and arrested on August 6, 2015.

A 54-year-old male is facing the following charge:

Indecent Act
 
He was released on a promise to appear.
 
 
Commercial Robbery Arrest – C15-164200
On August 7, 2015, just after 1:00 a.m., a lone male suspect attended to a gas bar located in the 2000 block of Pembina Highway.
 
Once inside, the suspect confronted an employee while in possession of weapon and demanded money. The victim was assaulted causing non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect eventually fled empty handed.  
 
District 2 Patrol members responded and located the suspect a short distance away, at which time he was placed under arrest.
 
Members of the Major Crimes unit were notified and continued the investigation.
 
James KOROMA, 30 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Robbery
Possession of a Weapon
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
 
He was remanded into custody. 
  
 
Indecent Act Investigation – R15-58664
On August 3, 2015 at approximately 8:00 p.m., a 14-year-old female was walking in the Elmwood area of the city when she was approached by an unknown male.
 
The male began walking along-side the female at which time he produced a cellular device and began showing her a sexually explicit image(s). The suspect followed her for a period of time until they went their separate ways.
 
The suspect is described as a male, 25-30 years-old, 6'00" tall, skinny build, shoulder length curly blonde hair, wearing a black t-shirt with blue writing on the front, grey sweat pants and black high-top shoes.
