Drug Warrant Arrests – C15-190196
On September 9, 2015, members of the East District Community Support Unit became involved in a drug investigation which resulted in the arrest of two males.  At the time of arrest, 9 ounces of powder cocaine was located.
 
Subsequent investigation resulted in a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant being executed in the 1st 100 block of Nassau Street North.  A further 52 grams of powdered cocaine along with drug packaging material was located and seized.
 
The estimated street value of the drugs seized by officers is $22,000.00.
 
Two males, 24 and 31 years of Winnipeg are facing drug related charges.
 
Both were released via Promises to Appear.
 
 
Indecent Act – C15-190400
On September 10, 2015 at approximately 12:45 a.m., a 20-year-old female was in the area Kimberley Avenue and Henderson Highway when she was approached by an unknown male.
 
The male struck up a conversation with the female while exposing himself. No contact was made and the victim left the area unharmed.
 
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 20-years-old, 5'8"- 6'0" tall, brown hair, wearing a white sweater, black pants, brown boxers and black shoes.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2857 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).    
 
 
Weapon Investigation – C15-190646
On September 10, 2015 at approximately 11:10 a.m., officers responded to a High School located in the 500 block of Chalmers Avenue regarding reports that an armed suspect(s) was in the vicinity.
 
As a result, the school was locked down for a period of time. Members of the Winnipeg Police Service searched the area and confirmed that no injuries had occurred and that the area was safe.
 
Further investigation determined that the information provided was unfounded.
 
 
Body Located in River – C15-190896
On September 10, 2015 at approximately 6:00 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Provencher Boulevard and Tache Avenue where a body had been located in the river on the east side, north of the Provencher Bridge. 
 
The deceased is identified as an adult female. Results of an autopsy and the identity of the deceased are pending. At this time, foul play is not suspected.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Missing Persons Unit.
