Body Recovered From Red River – Update -
C15-201871

As previously reported, on September 25, 2015, at approximately 8:15 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of the Louise Bridge for the report of a body in the river.

Responding members located an adult female in the Red River.  She was transported to hospital in critical condition where she later succumbed.

Her identity was confirmed and family notifications were made.

At this time foul play is not suspected.


Arson Investigation
In the early morning hours of September 29, 2015, the Winnipeg Police Service received the reports of several fires.  They include:

  • 400 block of Desalaberry Street, garbage bin.  No damage estimate.
  • 700 block of La Fleche Street, 2003 Chevrolet Impala.  Damage estimated at $1000.00.
  • 400 block of Desalaberry Avenue, 2015 Flagstaff travel trailer.  No damage estimate.
  • 1st 100 block of Stadacona Street, 1997 Pontiac Sunfire, 2002 Ford Focus, 2004 CPI Scooter.  No damage estimate.
  • 100 block of Henderson Highway, garbage bin.  No damage estimate.
  • 100 block of Johnson Avenue West, garbage bin.  No damage estimate.
  • 100 block of McPhail Street, 1999 Ford Taurus.  Damage estimated at $5000.00.
  • 100 block of Mighton Avenue, shed.  No damage estimate.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Arson Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6813 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
