CHECK-ing In program

The 2015-16 hockey season marks the 2nd year of the CHECK-ing In program and the partnership between Hockey Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Police Service. The St. Vital Minor Hockey Association has taken a lead role and will be hosting this year's kick-off event on October 3, 2015.

The Winnipeg Police Service attended approximately 40 games last year, covering a variety of ages and divisions. Attendance was based on random selections as well as addressing specific concerns. While at the various arenas, Winnipeg Police members engaged members of the public regarding a variety of community concerns.

Working with our partners again this year at Hockey Winnipeg, we will continue to further the Respect in Sport message to make our arenas safe, fun and filled with encouragement!

Members of the Winnipeg Police Service along with Hockey Winnipeg staff and St. Vital Minor Hockey Association representatives will be available to speak with media at 1:00 p.m. on October 3, 2015 atthe Jonathan Toews Sportsplexlocated at 1188 Dakota Street.

See you there!
