Break and Enter Investigations – C15-206553
Between March and October 2015, a 26-year-old male became involved in a crime spree where numerous break-ins occurred at various businesses and residential properties.
 
The incidents are as follows:
 

  • March 10th – Business located in the 1400 block of Spruce Street – merchandise stolen
  • June 3rd – Garage break-in – 600 block of Denson Place – Damage caused, property stolen
  • June 4th – Residence – 300 block of Lipton Street - Damage caused, property stolen
  • September 16th – Residence – 700 block of Valour Road – property stolen
  • September 16th – Suspect attempts to pawn previously stolen property at business - 500 block of Sargent Avenue
  • September 22nd – Residence – 700 block of Ashburn Street – damage caused, property stolen
  • September 22nd - Suspect attempts to pawn previously stolen property at business – 1300 block of Portage Avenue
  • September – stole property from a residence located in the 700 block of Pacific Avenue
  • October 1st – 4th - On three occasions, the suspect attended to a business located in the 600 block of Empress Street – damage was caused and property stolen. On one occasion, staff was confronted by the suspect

 
The investigation led by the West District Crime Unit with the assistance of patrol members, the suspect was identified.
 
On October 10, 2015 John David NICKERSON, 26-years-old of Winnipeg was located and placed under arrest. He has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Break Enter & Theft x 3
Break & Enter with Intent x 2
Robbery
Possession of a Weapon
Theft Under $5000.00
 
He was remanded into custody.
