Wednesday, December 30, 2015   Festive Season Check Stop Program - Week #3 Results The Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Unit has provided the results from the third week (December 18th–24th, 2015) of the Festive Season Check Stop Program.  1325 - Vehicles stopped 17 -     Roadside breath tests administered 3 -       ASD Warnings (72 hour driver's license suspension) 12 -     Impaired Driving Arrests broken down into the following: 6 Drive Impaired/Drive Over 80mg% 6 Refusal charges 38 –   Traffic related Provincial Offence Notices (PON) issued The Winnipeg Police Service strongly encourages all motorists to have a plan in place before you go out this holiday season and throughout the year.  Taking a cab, contacting Operation Red Nose or simply identifying a designated driver, are some options to consider. As well, Winnipeg Transit is once again partnering with Manitoba Public Insurance to offer free transit service on New Year's Eve starting at 7:00 p.m. and continuing until end of service.
