Commercial Robbery Arrest – C15-254960
On December 3, 2015 at approximately 10:25 p.m., a male suspect confronted an employee associated to a fast food business located in the area of the 800 block of Waverley Street.
   
The armed suspect entered the business through the rear door and confronted staff while concealing his identity. The suspect robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot.
   
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service were notified and dispatched. Patrol members, including members of the Canine Unit responded to the area.
   
The suspect was tracked west of the business and apprehended by Canine Unit members.
   
Kevin Tyler MURPHY, 24-years-old of Winnipeg was turned over to members of the Major Crimes Unit and processed further.
   
MURPHY has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
   
Robbery
Possession of a Weapon
Disguise with Intent
Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance
   
He was remanded into custody.
   
   
   
Update - Vehicle Robbery Investigations Arrest – C15-245055
On November 20, 2015 at approximately 7:00 a.m., while in the area of the 100 block of River Avenue, a male suspect armed with a gun confronted an occupant who was waiting inside a Toyota Corolla. The male victim was forced out of the vehicle and the suspect fled the area in the Toyota.    
   
On November 21, 2015 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a vehicle robbery in the area of Goulet Street and Kenny Avenue.
   
Officers met with the male victim who advised that he had been parked in the area when he was confronted by an armed suspect who robbed him of his Pontiac Montana van.
   
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
   
Information was provided to the public regarding the robbery involving the Pontiac Montana van resulting in its recovery. Further support from the public assisted in the recovery of the stolen Toyota Corolla in the same area of Mayfair Place. 
   
The suspect was identified and arrested in the area of Mayfair Place on December 3, 2015 at approximately 6:30 p.m.
   
A 15-year-old male has been charged with the following and remanded into custody:
   
Armed Robbery using a Firearm x 2
Possession of a Weapon x 2
Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition x 2
Use of Firearm during Commission of an Indictable Offence x 2
Pointing a Firearm x 2
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2
Disguise with Intent x 2
