Public Advisory: Manitoba Hydro Operations Involving Explosives
On Sunday, 15 May 2016 between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., Manitoba Hydro will be conducting operations involving explosives on their towers situated in the areas of Bishop Grandin/Pembina, and the Sobeys Store on Taylor.

This work consists of stringing large lines (already completed) that are hooked together with compression connectors.  These connectors are crimped onto the wires through the use of an explosive charge called an "imploder".

Detonation of these charges is considerably loud and often results in numerous calls to the police, despite notices being posted and pamphlets being distributed to area residences and businesses.

Contact person for Manitoba Hydro is:  Wayne GROOM (MasTec - contractor) who can be called on his cell phone at 403-462-0513.

For further information contact either:
Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer
Constable Rob Carver, Public Information Officer
Kelly Dehn, Manager of Public Affairs
