Commercial Robbery Arrest – C16-136115
Between June 25th and July 1st, 2016 a male along with another suspect attended to several businesses and robbed them of merchandise.

The incidents are as follows:

  • June 25th, 5:00 p.m. – Clothing store, 1300 block of McPhillips Street– clothing stolen. The suspect produced a canister of hairspray and ignited the spray in the direction of staff.
  • June 26th, 11:00 a.m. – Convenience store, 100 block of Salter Street –Food and merchandise stolen. The suspect produced a canister of hairspray and ignited the spray in the direction of staff.
  • July 1st, 6:45 p.m. – Drug Store, 700 block of St. Anne's Road –merchandise stolen. Again, the suspect produced a canister of hairspray and ignited the spray in the direction of staff. As the male suspect fled the business, he kicked a small dog that was sitting outside the store.

 
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded. After a brief foot pursuit, members of the Canine Unit located and arrested the male suspect.

Members of the District 3 Crime Unit continued the investigation.

Ivan James ROULETTE, 23 years old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Robbery x 3
Possession of a Weapon
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Probation Order x 6
Causing Unnecessary Suffering to an Animal

He was remanded into custody, the investigation continues.
