Tuesday, August 2, 2016 Homicide Investigation Update – Arrest: C16-138707 As previously released - On July 5, 2016, emergency personnel responded to the area of Portage Avenue and Donald Street regarding an injured male. The victim was transported to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as: - Cyril Quentin WEENUSK, 26 years, of Oxford House, Manitoba. ______________________________________________________ On July 29, 2016, Investigators obtained a Court Order authorizing the release of images of a suspect, possibly a youth, sought in connection with the homicide. As a result of these images being released, a second suspect was arrested later that day: Renelle McDOUGAL, 20 years of Winnipeg, has been charged with Second Degree Murder. McDOUGAL was remanded into custody. On July 15, 2016, Winnipeg Police Homicide investigators had made an initial arrest regarding this incident: - Geordie Douglas WOOD, 22 years, of St. Theresa Point, Manitoba, has been charged with Second Degree Murder. Wood was remanded back into custody. The Winnipeg Police Service wishes to thank members of the public for their assistance in this investigation.  Homicide Investigation – Arrest: C16-156802 As previously reported: On July 28, 2016, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Winnipeg Police general patrol and Tactical Support Team units attended to the 100 block of Bannerman Avenue for a report of gun shots heard in the area. It was determined that an incident had occurred in a multi-family residence on this block which resulted in an investigation by the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit.              Police located a male victim in a suite within the building suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital, but was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as: - Kingston PAUL, 20 years, of Winnipeg ________________________________________________________ On July 29, 2016, homicide detectives arrested a 61-year-old male suspect: - Erskine RUGGLES has been charged with Manslaughter (with Firearm).
