Saturday, August 27, 2016         Update - Homicide Investigation Arrests – C16-166130 As previously released - On August 10, 2016, at approximately 8:45 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the 400 block of McGee Street for the report of a body located.   Garnet Walter WILLIAMS, 43 years old of Winnipeg was located deceased. Early stages of the investigation suggested his death was suspicious in nature.     The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit.     Due to the evidence gathered, it has been determined that on July 31, 2016, WILLIAMS, while in the company of a small group attended to a suite located in the 600 block of Ellice Avenue. A dispute erupted at which time WILLIAMS was seriously assaulted by multiple people.     WILLIAMS sustained critical injuries and was confined for a period of time.
