Suspicious Circumstances, Body located– C16-166130
On August 10, 2016, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Emergency services personnel responded to the 400 block of McGee Street, for a report of a body located.

The investigation at this point is in very early stages, and is pending results of an autopsy.

Stabbing Incidents – C16-166338/C16-166341
On August 11, 2016, at approximately 3:55 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were called to the 500 block of Magnus Avenue for a report of an assault.

While at the scene, members of the Winnipeg Police Service were called to the 600 block of Magnus Avenue where they located a 34 year old male who had been stabbed in the upper body area.  It is believed that the victim had been walking in the 500 block of Magnus Avenue when he was confronted by 2 males, and stabbed.  The victim then walked to the 600 block of Magnus Avenue, where he collapsed. Emergency personnel transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.

While officers were on scene, a second stabbing was reported at approximately 4:10 a.m., nearby in the 500 block of Magnus avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located a 32 year old male victim who had also been stabbed.   This victim had observed the first assault in the 500 block of Magnus Avenue.  He was then confronted by the same suspects, and stabbed in the upper body area.  He was transported to hospital in unstable condition.   


Members of General Patrol and Canine units shortly thereafter located and arrested two adult male suspects in the area.

The investigation is continuing.
