Drug and Weapon Arrests - R16-69792
On September 17, 2016 at approximately 5:50 a.m., East District Patrol (District 4) members observed a Dodge Neon travelling in the area of Cottonwood Road and Drake Boulevard contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The vehicle was observed to flee at a high rate of speed toward Rue Archibald having no regard for public safety. The driver of the Neon drove over the median and collided with a traffic light standard near Cottonwood Road and Rue Archibald causing the vehicle to become inoperable.

A male and female occupant attempted to flee from the vehicle on foot. With the assistance of additional East District Patrol members, the two suspects were promptly apprehended.

The investigation revealed that the two suspects were in possession of the following:

.22 calibre rifle
A quantity of methamphetamine
Bolt cutters

Cody HARTOG, 21 years and Shannon OGAL, 37 years have been charged with numerous drug and weapon related offences due to their alleged involvement.

HARTOG is also facing several Highway Traffic Act offences due to his manner of driving which include:

Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Drive while Disqualified
Drive without Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance

Both were remanded into custody.
