Sexual Assault Investigation - C16-91529
Public Assistance Requested:
On May 7, 2016, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a vulnerable, 47 year old female met a male while in the vicinity of the 600 block of Westminster Avenue.
The suspect initially offered the female a cigarette when they engaged further in conversation. They then attended to the female's residence where they consumed non-alcoholic beverages.
While inside, the suspect proceeded to touch the victim inappropriately, this escalated to a serious sexual assault.
The suspect left the residence having no further contact with the victim.
The Winnipeg Police Service was notified of the incident and members of the Sex Crimes Unit have been actively involved. This has consisted of processing evidence and on-going efforts to identify the male suspect.
At this time, involved members are seeking the public assistance in identifying the suspect described as follows:
Caucasian male, 34 years old, 5'10" 5'11" tall, 175 pounds, scruffy facial hair and a tattoo on the back of his neck (bars or numbers).

Update - Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision C16-186410
As previously released -On September 7, 2016 at approximately 8:10 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of the Perimeter and St. Anne's Road for the report of a serious collision involving a male on a bike and a dump truck.
As a result of the collision, Michael Larry SLOBODIAN, 45 years old succumbed to his injuries.
Members of the Central Traffic Unit continue to investigate. At this time, it has been determined that SLOBODIAN was riding his bike in a westbound direction on the perimeter approaching St. Anne's Road. At the same time, a Mack truck, also travelling west came to a stop at a red light.
When the light turned green, the truck made a right turn at which time the collision occurred.
Charges to the driver will be considered based on the conclusion of the investigation.

Fatalities such as this have a profound effect on our community and more specifically the family and friends of the person involved.
The SLOBODIAN family thanks the community for the outpouring of support during this incredibly difficult time. They are asking for privacy while they grieve and as arrangements are being made to celebrate Michael's life.
