Weapons Investigation – Arrest R16-78509
On October 16, 2016, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Winnipeg Police general patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Seymour Street. An adult male driver and an adult female passenger were removed from the vehicle and at that time police located two, loaded, semi-automatic handguns from the passenger compartment of the SUV.
   
Police arrested:
Barry Allan COURCHENE, 34-years, of Winnipeg and
 
Natasha Seita SANTOS, 32-years, of Winnipeg
   
Both accused were charged, individually, with 14 separate firearms related offences. They were remanded into custody.
   
Suspicious Male - C16-214836
On October 14, 2016 at approximately 12:20 p.m., an 8-year-old boy was in the Weston area of the city when he was approached by an unknown male in a vehicle.
   
The male confronted the boy and offered him pizza. No contact or injuries were reported.
   
The suspect is described as a male, Aboriginal in appearance, 5'10" in height, wearing a blue/red hat and jacket and jeans. He was described as operating a blue coloured car at the time. 
   
The intentions of the male suspect are unknown at this time. However, anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-3296.
