Homicide Arrest Update – C16-208816
As previously released - On October 6, 2016 at approximately 3:10 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 300 block of Springfield Road regarding a serious assault that just occurred.
   
An injured 23 year old male was located suffering from critical injuries consistent with being stabbed. Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service transported the male to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. 
   
The victim has been identified as Scott TATES, 23 years, of Winnipeg.
   
The investigation has revealed that the victim and a male  known to him, became involved in a dispute when a physical confrontation occurred.  The suspect left the area only to return a short time later, armed with a weapon, and seriously assaulted the victim. 
   
Officers attended the scene and arrested Christopher Blair MCDOUGALL, 28 years, of Winnipeg.  He has been charged with:
  Murder - 2nd Degree
  Assault Cause Bodily Harm
   
The accused has been remanded into custody.
