Homicide  Update – Arrest: C16-94952
As previously released: on May 12, 2016, at approximately 6:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of a male shot in the 600 block of Wellington Avenue.

The victim had been identified as George PRIESTON, 29-years-old, of Winnipeg.

On May 14, 2016, Winnipeg Police advised that two arrests had been made in relation to this incident. Raymond DUCHARME, 25 years, and Shawn POITRA, 25 years, were both charged with First Degree Murder.

On November 10, 2016 Homicide investigators charged a third suspect in relation to this incident.

Pierre David CONTOIS, 21-years-old, of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- First Degree Murder
- Cruelty to Animals

Contois was detained in custody.

Serious Assault Investigation – C16-238219
On November 13, 2016, at approximately 8:40 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of an injured male in the 300 block of Princess Street.

A 29-year-old male was located with serious upper-body injuries. He was transported to hospital in critical condition. His condition has since been upgraded to serious but stable.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-619 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Serious Motor Vehicle Collision – C16-238830
On November 14, 2016, at approximately 7:50 a.m. emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Kenaston Boulevard and McGillivray Boulevard.

A pedestrian was struck by a semi-trailer truck at this location. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition. Further details on the victim are unavailable at this time.   

This investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-7085 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
