Update - Homicide Investigation - C16-247965

Public Assistance Requested:

As previously released - On November 26, 2016, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received reports of gunshots being heard in the area of Donald Street and Stradbrook Avenue. Responding officers discovered two males suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Both males were transported to hospital in critical condition.

A 32-year-old male did not survive his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Theodoros BELAYNEH. He was a resident of Edmonton, Alberta.

The second victim, an adult male, has been upgraded to stable condition.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.

It has since been determined that the victim, Theodoros BELAYNEH was coming from the Reset Interactive Ultralounge located at 1931 Pembina Highway, prior to being shot. He attended there with friends to watch a HIP HOP concert, where the main event was ACE HOOD.

Members of the Homicide Unit are requesting anyone who attended the concert and took photos/video while inside or in the parking lot, before or after the event, to contact investigators as soon as possible. Members of the Winnipeg Police Service wish to access any imagery of individuals or crowds during this time frame in attempt to identify anyone associating with BELAYNEH that night.

Update - Shootings - C16-249563
On November 28, 2016, the Winnipeg Police Service and RCMP responded to two separate shooting incidents involving three victims.

The first incident occurred in the 400 block of Pritchard Avenue involving a 38 year old male who was shot and critically injured.

Prior to fleeing, the suspects robbed two additional victims and then forced them into a vehicle and drove them to the area of Raleigh Street between Glenway Avenue and Foxgrove Avenue in East St. Paul, Manitoba. It was at this location where the two were shot before the suspects fled the area in the same vehicle.

Due to the investigative efforts by members of the Winnipeg Police Service and RCMP, it has been determined that these shooting incidents are related.

Efforts to locate the suspects involved are on-going and further details will be provided as they become available. Members of the WPS Major Crimes Unit and RCMP continue to investigate.
